Accepted Calculators for SAT Tests
Calculators are allowed on the SAT, although there are few restrictions. While there are a number of accepted calculators for SAT tests, students are NOT allowed to use the following:
- Phones, tablets, or laptop/desktop computers
- Calculators that can connect to the internet
- Calculators with QWERTY format letter keys (with VERY SPECIFIC exceptions that most students do not qualify for
- Calculators that make sound, print out paper tape, or need a power/electrical cord
THE SAT
Most battery powered scientific and graphing calculators are allowed on the SAT. For those students taking the new digital SAT (spring 2024) or PSAT (fall 2023), the platform does provide a calculator, but students are still allowed to bring their own.
